World renowned actress Diane Kruger joins the Jury of Breaking Through The Lens’ Action Grant, supporting filmmakers of underrepresented gender (including women, non-binary and trans) with a feature film in development. This €10,000 grant funding is intended to help the winner take a concrete step towards production. Most recently seen in David Cronenberg’s THE SHROUDS which premiered at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, Diane launched her career as the face that launched a thousand ships in TROY and is perhaps best known for her inimitable performance as Bridget Von Hammersmark in Quentin Tarantino’s critically acclaimed INGLORIOUS BASTARDS for which she won a SAG award, and as Abigail Chase in Jerry Brickheimer’s NATIONAL TREASURE trilogy opposite Nicolas Cage. One of her most notable roles to date however is her multi award-winning performance in the German film IN THE FADE, directed by Fatih Akin. The film premiered at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival where Kruger was awarded Best Actress for her performance. Among other accolades, Academy Award nominated IN THE FADE was awarded Best Foreign Film at the Golden Globes and Critic’s Choice Movie Awards.Kruger has served as a Producer on several of her acting projects and now has an impressive slate of her own projects in development as Producer. She is passionate about encouraging young female filmmakers.
