Endo Awarness Month ????
Endometriosis is a condition that affects 1 in 9 womxn, with so many suffering in silence and thinking their pain is normal. It is not normal!
According to the NHS it is one of the most painful chronic health conditions with no cure. The average diagnosis time is 7.5 years.
Tissue resembling the lining of the womb grown on the exterior wall and in other areas of the body that it shouldn’t, causing scarring, lesians, adhesions, ovarian and other cysts.
We may not be able to see it and the person mignt not look sick, but, it’s an invisible illness that most certainly exists.
Up to 50% of women with endometriosis have issues with fertility. It is not just a bad period, it’s a chronic condition causing emotional and mental stress with physical pain; agonizing pelvic cramps, pain during ovulation, inflammation, vomiting, nausea, migraines, digestive problems, extreme bloating, brain fogging, anxiety and pain during intercourse.
Endometriosis is very hard to diagnose and similarly hard to get any relief from - surgery is often the only option (I’ve had one) that doesn't even guarantee relief.
Please keep an eye out for @my.looni the womxns health company I’ve recently co-founded to help support womxn not just with endometriosis but all those with menstrual cycles. ????
