Hen 2.0 over and out ???????? I realise it’s wildly self indulgent to have two hens, but honestly having all my friends in one room for a Saturday lunch was a memory I will cherish forever. For a long time I found female friendships quite challenging. There’s something that sort of scars you when you have friendships where you feel that as soon as you’d leave a room those girls/women would talk about you behind your back. I guess many of us have been there and it definitely has an impact on you then believing that people genuinely like you and want to be your friend. I always told myself I had masculine energy and so I was very guarded and untrusting in female friendships. But, over the last few years, as I’ve worked on myself and found a deeper sense of happiness and being comfortable in who I am, I’ve learned to trust women, to let my guard down, and as a result I’ve forged such special friendships that I treasure so much. So in a way, yesterday was a bit of an emotional moment for me. Having my mum, Paddy’s mum, my family and friends in one room, I really did just feel a deep sense of gratitude for where I find myself in my life. I guess getting married can be a moment where you take stock of who you have around you. Who really matters, and who’s going to be there for you in the next phase of your life. Anyway, emotional chat aside, I’m now nursing a horrific hangover, but with a happy heart. And who doesn’t love a sofa sloth day eh! Here’s some of my favourite photos from the day, and you can find the chaos that ensued on my stories too ????????
